“I believe that our Constitution and its separation of powers makes us unique and keeps us free. Political policy decisions should be made by those directly accountable to the people—your elected representatives. The job of a Judge is to follow the Constitution.”
- Cade Cole
Judge Cade Cole is a father of four, seasoned litigator, and experienced Judge. After law school, Judge Cole served as a Law Clerk to Justice Jeannette Knoll at the Louisiana Supreme Court before practicing law in Lake Charles.
He has defended our community as an Assistant District Attorney and served as City Attorney for Vinton and Sulphur. Cade grew up in DeQuincy and served as its City Magistrate.
Cade led successful efforts to improve our citizens' rights to defend themselves from improper state or local taxes, and then served us as Louisiana’s first state and local Tax Judge. Judge Cole is a trial judge of statewide jurisdiction that has received national praise for efficiently moving a complex docket with billions in dispute.
Judge Cole was also asked by other state and federal judges to be the Special Master and design the program to expedite the handling of over 10,000 hurricane related lawsuits—a vital effort to stand our community back up after Hurricane Laura. Cade was previously awarded the Bar Association’s Outstanding Service Award. He has recently worked closely with McNeese organizing its successful Ranch Collective to support student athletes.
"Cade served you as an ADA and understands what it takes to keep us safe. As a Judge he always applies the law fairly and never legislates from the bench. The men and women of law enforcement are proud to stand with Cade, and I know he will serve you with honesty and integrity. I hope you'll join me, and every other District Attorney from every parish in his district, in supporting Judge Cole on March 29."
"Cade grew up in a small town and understands rural Louisiana. He knows first-hand that every parish in this district needs assistance and attention from our judiciary. I know Judge Cole will stand for the safety of our communities, and I’m proud to join all the other Sheriffs in the district in supporting him for the Supreme Court on March 29."
"Judge Cole will apply the law fairly for all people of Louisiana. He has been in the trenches with law enforcement--helping agencies throughout West Calcasieu. I know he will continue to stand up for public safety and fight for our families on the Louisiana Supreme Court."
"Cade Cole was asked by the other Judges to run the program speeding up hurricane lawsuits-- vital work for standing up our community after Laura. Our region has the first opportunity in decades to have its own seat on our state’s top court. Judge Cole always stood up for us, and I encourage you to promote him to the Louisiana Supreme Court on March 29."
"Judge Cade Cole has been central to the efforts to address Louisiana’s crime problem and improve our business climate. I can think of no one more capable than Judge Cole to serve us on the Supreme Court-- he was made for the job."
“Cade Cole has a passion for improving Louisiana and is always willing to take on the tough jobs. I know he is guided by his faith and family, and he will always stand up for us on the Supreme Court.”
